Good evening all,

First off, i'm sorry for not sending emails the last few days, I have been dealing with some stuff, and I haven't been able to get myself ready to do readings. I hope that my wheels will meet the rails more often, and I hope yours a chugging along nicely. Today is a new day.

The light at the opening of the burrow from which we are crawling out, into what feels like a strange and slightly un-tethered world, is making my head spin, as i'm sure it is a lot of people's. But it will pass.

To break this head spinning-paralyses I wanted to read something that was exciting and punchy. So today's reading is the first bit of H.G. Wells' The War of the Worlds 1898. Aliens and angst.

"On Halloween morning, 1938, Orson Welles awoke to find himself the most talked about man in America. The night before, Welles and his Mercury Theatre on the Air had performed a radio adaptation of H.G. Wells’s The War of the Worlds, converting the 40-year-old novel into fake news bulletins describing a Martian invasion of New Jersey. Some listeners mistook those bulletins for the real thing, and their anxious phone calls to police, newspaper offices, and radio stations convinced many journalists that the show had caused nationwide hysteria. By the next morning, the 23-year-old Welles’s face and name were on the front pages of newspapers coast-to-coast, along with headlines about the mass panic his CBS broadcast had allegedly inspired." - here

Reading this gave me a shiver, and I hope it does for you too.

The song attached to the reading is An English Garden 1995, by Sol Invictus. Eeerie.
