So Sing Da’ Da’ Da’, Da’ Da’ Da’ Da’ 2020

16:32, 25:30. Duel channel.

A group of friends follow a set of instructions. They are filmed carrying out the given tasks whilst isolated in a cabin in the forest. The given instructions are as follows:

1. The group sits down and shares a meal together, connecting over conversation and food.

2. They play a word game, in which one person says a word, and one by one the others say another word or phrase, as a way of generating a piece of text.

3. After eating, the group go outside and form a choir to sing the text unrehearsed.

Both films are manifestations of the terms warm and cold. The warm is the raw emotional experience of friendship and unity. The cold is the uncovering of absurdity in the situation through the presence of the camera, and the reality of the circumstances. 8 friends singing nonsense into the wind.
