Hello!!
♪ People are strange, when you're a stranger ♪ la la la la
We might feel like strangers right now. Tonight try and look at the moon and catch in your eyes the reflected gaze of someone you hold dear. If you can't see it, put your hands on any surface, and feel through the desk, the legs, the floor, the walls, the earth, across land, up another wall, another floor, some more legs and another desk, someone else's hands.
Today's reading is another piece of writing by Raymond Carver, the short story Neighbours, 1971. The story follows a married couple who become obsessed with their neighbours house and belongings whilst they are away.
A couple of mates offered to incorporate their own sounds into the mix of the reading, they are in the background, so please enjoy.
The song attached is 'People are Strange' by The Doors. The story clarifies a feeling of longing, for another place, for another life. Lovely.
