Bedtime Story Conservatory 44 10/05/2020
Hello everyone!
I am back today, and I was very nearly too exhausted to do the reading, but then I felt a pang of energy and here I am, as it goes I guess. I'm sure as soon as I have finished writing this email I will slink back into a nice restful position from my desk to the bed, which are 1 metre away from each-other, but feel like different rooms.
Today I realised it is Mothers Day in Finland, so I wished my mum a happy Mothers Day, but it turns out that it was on March 14th in the UK, oops. Nevertheless, the reading I am reading reading reading today is devoted to my Mum.
It's Here Come the Aliens 1995 by Chris McNaughton. My mum and dad used to read this all the time to me when I was a kid, and I just found it again today, each image as the (virtual) pages turned generating new nostalgia and excitement. The laughter and joy this book invoked when I was a child may be difficult to convey through a simply audio track, but I've attached an image of what the aliens looked like and the sounds they made below.
So thank you mum, and happy belated Mothers Day to you. Here are what I think are your favourite flowers, yellow tulips, but I may be completely wrong like I was about something else in the immediate past. Lots of love and hugs from Helsinki.
The song attached to the recording is See The Sky About to Rain 1974 by Neil Young.
Everybody else, thank you too, lots of love, and I hope you enjoy this short reading as much as I did as a kid.
