Bedtime Story Conservatory 94 11/07/2020
Good afternoon all,
Something completely bizarre happened yesterday, I was walking through the metro station, looked down, and noticed that the laces on my right shoe had come undone. I stepped to the left away from the crowd, and stopped, bent down, and began to tie my shoelaces.
Then, within 2 seconds, a man came up to me, bent down, and started doing up the laces on his left shoe. His foot was 5cm away from mine, our toes pointing towards each-other. I did not look up, even though his face must have been very close to mine. We continued to tie our laces, and finished at the exact same time. We got up, and walked in our opposing directions, him towards the escalator, and me towards the train. I still did not look at him, only his shoe and the hair poking out from the bottom of his trousers.

Today's reading is very short, and is simply called The Encounter by Daniil Kharms (1905-42). I have read two of Kharm's short stories previously in this project. I hope you enjoy if you do listen today.
